IN FOCUS: SCHOOLS DIVISION OF GUIMARAS
Making excellence our way of life!
Excellence is deeply ingrained in the consciousness of the Schools Division of Guimaras (SDO Guimaras) workforce. This is what fuels the Division’s educational endeavors. Having the school children in mind, the Division continuously explores new possibilities and creates innovative enterprises.
One of the stunning proofs of its passion for excellence is being in the Top 5 shortlisted semifinalists of the 2019-2020 Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Curriculum and Instruction (SAFE-CI) specifically in the Category for Most Learning-Focused Division.
This national feat was triggered by the 2019 Regional Service Excellence Award where the SDO Guimaras garnered seven of the 13 awards at stake.
The awards won are the following: 1st Runner-up for Top Performing Schools Division Office, Champion for the Best Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, Champion in Curriculum Implementation, Best in Curriculum Implementation, Best in Curriculum Contextualization, Best in Financial Management, and Best in Performance Management.
“Being acclaimed as 1st Runner-up for Best Performing Division among the 20 schools divisions in the entire Region VI is indeed an honor for us but we must not rest on our laurels; we must continue to strive for excellence in everything that we do,” remarked Novelyn M. Vilchez, PhD, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent.
Thus, SDO Guimaras continues to make excellence as its trademark under the leadership of Ma. Roselyn J. Palcat, EdD, CESO VI, OIC – Schools Division Superintendent.
This notable accomplishment in the Regional Level paved the way for SDO Guimaras to be the entry of DepEd Region VI in the SAFE-CI, an initiative of DepEd Central Office.
For SDO Guimaras, excellence is not a one-shot-deal but a lifetime commitment because the Guimarasnon children deserve the best.
